What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our blog, we collect the data shown in the comments form (which include name, email & website) and also the user’s IP address and browser  string to help in filtering spam comments.

Also, a nameless string extracted from your email address (also known as hash) may be forwarded to the Gravatar service to see if you are using their service. The Gravatar service privacy policy on this page: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

When your comment get approved, your profile picture or avatar is visible to other users in the context of your comment.

Whenever you decide to leave a comment on our blog, you may option in to saving your email address,  website and name in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your personal details over and over again when you wish to leave another comment. Cookies were set to last for one year.

We may decide serve Google ads later on in future, kindly bear in mind that as a third-party , Google Adsense will use cookies to serve ads on our blog.

If you have an account with us and you log in to this site by filling the correct details, we  set a short-term cookie to know if your browser accepts cookies or not. This cookie does not contain your personal data and is ditched when you close your browser and leave our website.

Login cookies can last for only 48 hours (two days), and screen options cookies last for almost a year. If you leave any comment, the comment and its data are retained indefinitely unless we decide to delete them which is very rare or you order us to delete them with concrete reasons. We do this so that we can easily recognize and approve any follow-up comments you make  automatically instead of hiding them in our moderation queue. We don’t share your comment and data with anyone unless they view them publicly but your email will never be shown to anyone and this is indefinite

What rights do  you have over your data?

If you have an account on this website, or you left comments, you can demand to receive an exported file of the data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us in the past. Incase you don’t like your personal data being saved with us, you can also demand that we delete any personal data we have about you. This will not include any data we are mandated to keep for legal, security or administrative purposes.

In future, our administratoes may decide to include or remove from this Privacy Policy.

We are assuring you that the most recent version of this Privacy Policy will always be posted on the website, and the date modified will be tagged at the top of the Policy. We will only update and revise this Privacy Policy page if there is need to change the policy, as the technology we use also changes, when we add latest services or modifiy the current ones.
